Following the rainwater route
For a residential conversion or a home with a concealed roof edge, the drainage route may not be obvious from ground level. An internal outlet, box gutter or junction behind a parapet can produce a leak that appears far from the cause. Describe the building type and any known shared drainage in your enquiry.
Finding the cause
An inspection should check the outlet and its connection as well as the roof membrane. If water is backing up, a patch to the covering may not solve it. The quotation should explain how the drainage fault will be addressed and tested.
Planning your roofing work
Tell us whether access is controlled by a managing agent and whether there is a communal yard. This page covers residential enquiries; any commercial requirement must be discussed separately.
What belongs in your quote
A clear quote sets out the materials, access and waste removal, as well as the repair itself. It should also explain what happens if opening the roof reveals further damage, so you know how any extra work will be agreed.
Use the roofing quotation checklist or understand the main cost factors.
