Main roofs and smaller additions
At New Farmers Hill, the council’s Woodlesford appraisal records timber-framed homes with a mixture of flat and pitched roof forms. If your property has both, explain which section is leaking and whether the mark appears near the connection between them. Photos of the whole roof arrangement, taken safely from the ground, help distinguish the main covering from an adjoining roof or extension.

Finding the cause
At a pitched-to-flat junction, check the flashing, upstand and outlet as well as the surface covering. If renewal is proposed, establish whether the deck is sound and whether the drainage arrangement needs changing. These items materially affect the scope.
Planning your roofing work
Mention access alongside an attached garage and any glazed roof below the work. Tell us if materials would need to pass through the house.
What belongs in your quote
A clear quote sets out the materials, access and waste removal, as well as the repair itself. It should also explain what happens if opening the roof reveals further damage, so you know how any extra work will be agreed.
Use the roofing quotation checklist or understand the main cost factors.
