Replacing broken or slipped tiles
For a tiled Gipton roof, individual defects may be caused by impact, failed fixings or a problem in the support beneath the covering. Similar-looking replacement tiles can have incompatible profiles. An inspection should establish what product is present and why units have moved before ordering replacements.
Finding the cause
Ask whether the damage is isolated or repeated along a course or edge. If the roof has been patched with several products, check how they interlock and shed water. A sound repair restores the weathering detail rather than filling gaps with an unsuitable material.
Planning your roofing work
Mention adjoining roof slopes and any extension restricting access below the damaged section. Keep photographs to a safe ground-level position, even when the roof appears low.
What belongs in your quote
A clear quote sets out the materials, access and waste removal, as well as the repair itself. It should also explain what happens if opening the roof reveals further damage, so you know how any extra work will be agreed.
Use the roofing quotation checklist or understand the main cost factors.
