Damp around the chimney breast
Little Horton Green contains older cottage groups with stone-slate roofs and prominent chimneys, documented separately from the wider Little Horton neighbourhood. If your house has a similar roof, a damp chimney breast needs the masonry, flashing and adjacent covering considered together. Previous pointing work is useful background, but it does not identify the source of a new leak.

Finding the cause
The inspection should consider the stack top, mortar joints, leadwork and adjoining roof as separate components. The quotation should explain which one is failing, rather than combining them under an undefined chimney repair allowance.
Planning your roofing work
Mention shared stacks and roof sections above extensions or enclosed yards. Access to the back of a stack can be different from access to the visible front face.
What belongs in your quote
A clear quote sets out the materials, access and waste removal, as well as the repair itself. It should also explain what happens if opening the roof reveals further damage, so you know how any extra work will be agreed.
Use the roofing quotation checklist or understand the main cost factors.
