Valleys and leadwork between roof slopes
The council’s Roundhay design statement describes hipped and gabled roofs on the semi-detached houses in the Talbots, Ayresomes and Devonshires part of its Park Villas and Lidgett Park study area. If your roof has a hip, a useful photograph shows the diagonal ridge as well as the damaged covering. Mention any adjoining bay or extension so the inspection includes the connections between roof sections.

Finding the cause
Ask for the condition of valleys, chimney flashing and bay-roof connections to be recorded separately from the main covering. If one scaffold arrangement can reach several defects, compare a combined scope with a series of isolated visits, without assuming every detail needs replacement.
Planning your roofing work
Mention roof sections above glazed extensions and any limited access around the sides. Agree where equipment can stand and how entrances will remain usable.
What belongs in your quote
A clear quote sets out the materials, access and waste removal, as well as the repair itself. It should also explain what happens if opening the roof reveals further damage, so you know how any extra work will be agreed.
Use the roofing quotation checklist or understand the main cost factors.
